SILVER STAR YOUTH EMPLOYMENT
WHO WE ARE
Turning Point contracts with the Workforce Investment Board through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), Monterey County Probation Department, Monterey County Community Foundation, and receives other grants and donations to provide employment development for court-involved youth.
Program
The program is a unique partnership with the Monterey County Probation, and Health Departments as well as the Monterey County Office of Education for court-involved youth ages 14.5 to 21. The mission of this program is to motivate and support the target youth population to gain the skills, self-esteem, and the confidence they need to be accountable, competent, and responsible citizens of their communities.

Referrals
Probation provides eligibility screening. The Silver Star Multidisciplinary Team, including Probation, Education, Mental Health, and Turning Point provide assessment for program appropriateness and, if suitable, enrolls student for services. This service is funded by The United Way and The Workforce Investment Board. This WIA Title I financially assisted program is an equal opportunity employer/program.
