OUR MISSION

The Sunrise Programs mission is to provide comprehensive mental health care services to adults referred by Fresno County Department of Behavioral Health who live with mental health and cooccurring disorders. With a “Whatever It Takes” attitude, Sunrise staff strives to empower our consumers to achieve self-sufficiency and independence utilizing wellness and recovery and strength based principles. Our services are transitional in nature and include providing resources to our consumers by listening, motivating, advocating, teaching, and offering support in the most respectful way possible.

PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY

Everyone, regardless of disability, has the right and responsibility of full participation in society.

People with mental illness and co-occurring disorders can recover and live healthy and productive lives.

The natural consequences or outcomes of various choices become opportunities for growth and learning.

Perceived “failure” is not defeat, but rather a chance to learn and grow.

Consumers must play an active role in the system designed to help them cope with their illness and readjust to community life.

Self-help, interdependence, and empowerment can be powerful means to establishing self esteem and self-worth.
